All-risks site cover (CAR)
Contractors' all-risks (CAR / TRC) covers accidental damage to the works themselves throughout the site period, from opening to handover.
Unlike decennial liability, which applies after handover to structural damage, CAR covers the construction period: fire, weather, collapse, theft of materials on site, handling errors during works. It often protects all site parties — project owner, main contractor, subcontractors — under a single policy for the operation.
It is especially relevant for large or long projects, where cumulative exposure to weather, theft and execution errors over many months is a significant financial risk for everyone involved.
McLer helps companies decide whether site-by-site cover or an annual framework policy better fits their volume of activity.
